SIC-Lazaro, the Milwaukee-based manufacturer of concrete, steel and high-density concrete counterweights and large metal fabrication services, is excited to announce the acquisition of Milwaukee-based metal-fabrication firm, Diamond Industries.

“With this acquisition, we are greatly expanding our metal fabrication services,” said Ken Rawson, VP & General Manager of SIC-Lazaro. “This takes the metal fabrication piece of our business to the next level.”

In operation since 1988, Diamond Industries has fabricated a wide variety of welded assemblies – from small sheet metal components to large complex structures and assemblies. Currently located on Pennsylvania Ave. in Cudahy, Wis., as part of the acquisition Diamond Industries equipment and employees will be moved to SIC-Lazaro’s 130,000 sq. ft. industrial complex on the city’s north side.

The American arm of a Spain-based company, SIC-Lazaro opened its Milwaukee plant in 2011 and over the years worked with the Northwest Side Community Development Corp. and the Milwaukee Economic Corp. to fund its in-house growth initiatives.

Over the past year the company has been focusing on improved efficiencies and performance, value added designs and services. With its expansive manufacturing footprint, SIC-Lazaro also started offering large metal fabrication services. Unlike many metal fabrication firms SIC-Lazaro’s team of AWS D1-1 Certified welders is equipped to work on larger weldment projects.

With the acquisition of Diamond Industries, SIC-Lazaro will expand its metal fabrication offerings and capabilities, increasing its potential for sales growth.

“This is a great time for SIC-Lazaro,” Rawson said. “We’re growing as a company and we’re going to be able to offer more services to our customers. This truly is a win-win situation.”
